Beware of scam calls from people posing as Hwa Chong Institution staff. Do not share personal details or transfer money, and report any suspicious calls to the anti-scam hotline at 1800 722 6688.
Scam Alert: Impersonation Phone Calls
We have been alerted to incidents where members of the public, including contractors, have received phone calls from individuals attempting to impersonate staff of Hwa Chong Institution.
Beware of these scam phone calls:
They come from overseas numbers. Note that HCI does not make calls from overseas.
For example, the callers invite contractors or vendors to bid for renovation/refurbishment jobs but require them to purchase materials from another company or their own company first.
Protect yourself:
Be vigilant. If you receive such a call, ignore it and do not pick up.
Do not transfer any money to the caller, either via remittance agencies, banks, or any other means.
Do not provide the caller with any personal information, such as name, NRIC number, bank account or credit card details, One-time password (OTP) etc.
