16th Hwa Chong Asia Pacific Young Leaders Summit

From July 13 to 19 2024, Hwa Chong Institution hosted the 16th Hwa Chong Asia-Pacific Young Leaders Summit (HC-APYLS). This year, the summit welcomed promising young leaders from China, India, Japan, the United States, South Africa, the Philippines, Estonia, France, Germany, Indonesia, and Singapore.

Designed as an international forum, the event enabled these young leaders to discuss pressing societal issues, gain invaluable insights from distinguished speakers, and immerse themselves in diverse cultures through interactions with delegates from around the globe. The theme for this year was "World in Transition: Thriving Amidst the Transformation."

We were honored to have Mr. Augustin Lee, 2nd Permanent Secretary (Education) at the Ministry of Education and 2nd Permanent Secretary (Smart Nation) at the Prime Minister’s Office, as our guest-of-honour. Keynote sessions featured esteemed speakers, including Professor Lily Kong, President & Lee Kong Chian Chair Professor at Singapore Management University; Mr. Shawn Low, Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer of LXA; and Mr. Bilahari Kausikan, Chairman of the Middle East Institute at the National University of Singapore.

Above all, APYLS provided all delegates and participants with the opportunity to forge bonds and cultivate a deeper understanding of their world, which will be instrumental as they navigate today's transitioning landscape.
