Japan Exchange Programme: HCI welcomes 15 students from KUSH
From 22 to 28 Mar 2024, Hwa Chong Institution (College Section) hosted 15 students from Kansai University Senior High (KUSH) under its Japan Exchange Programme. This collaboration returns the warm welcome received last November when Hwa Chong students immersed themselves in the vibrant culture and student life of Osaka, Japan.
Their journey in Singapore commenced with Hwa Chongians warmly greeting their Japanese buddies at the airport with personalised welcome boards and dinner. In the following days, the Japanese students immersed in the wonders Singapore has to offer through a meticulously planned tour and lessons in school.
Their itinerary included visits to iconic local spots such as Gardens by the Bay, Marina Barrage, and River Wonders. Additionally, they savoured Singapore's diverse culinary offerings, from satay at hawker center, Satay by the Bay, to Ice Kacang at local eatery, Mei Heong Yuen.
On campus, the Japanese guests seamlessly integrated into the school community, participating in classroom activities, laboratory experiments, and even tasting HCI’s canteen food!
On the final day, the farewell dinner created the perfect setting for heartfelt goodbyes and exchange of personalised cards. As the exchange programme drew to a close, students from both schools carried with them numerous shared memories, enduring friendships, and valuable experiences from this journey.
